"you can hug it out, bitch..." -michael scott.

"gears of war," PC will have FIVE NEW single player chapters, one in which you can battle the brumak itself...

and guess what... these new chapters won't be downloadable on xbox live... only pc, so... thanks cliffy b for fucking the fans that put your game on the map... douchebag.

"Hatchet is a 2007 slasher film from Ariescope Pictures [1]. Set in the Louisiana bayou, it is the story of the legend of Victor Crowley. A group of tourists discover that the legend is real and more horrifying than they ever imagined. It features an all-star horror cast that includes Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th), Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Tony Todd (Candyman), Mercedes McNab (Buffy The Vampire Slayer) and Joshua Leonard (The Blair Witch Project). Hatchet is billed as "a throwback to the glory days of horror that literally saws the face off the 'slasher film' as you know it."

above taken from wikipedia, because i'm too tired to write my own version.

i had found out about, "hatchet," through one of the many negative reviews i had read for rob zombie's, "halloween."

it had come up as a reference point of comparison as to how zombie could get a horrible film like his, "halloween," made, while adam green created this indi-budgeted film called, "hatchet," that is a nod to the glory days of the slasher genre.

i sought the film out because it seemed to be talked about by many people as being a truly, original horror flick.

i found the film, downloaded it, ripped it to stream to my 360, and watched one of the coolest, bloodiest films i had seen in a long while, reminding me how much i respect underground horror films that generally go straight to dvd.

i'm not going to talk about the plot, or the well known people who are in the flick... just, it's good to see an original horror film that made me the feel the way i felt when i saw peter jackson's, "dead alive," for the first time... captivated and in awe of something amazing.

visually it's stunning. well shot, digital... and to open the film with marilyn manson's, "this is the new shit,"... i never thought i'd say this, but what a perfect fit for a fucking film opening.

you need to search this flick out and marvel in it...

"God reached his hand down from the sky, he flooded the land then he set it on fire..."

four twenty five in the morning. i've been up since one thirty. i'm tired, and need to be at work in two or three hours. the will to sleep is there, but i can't seem to fall back asleep.

started playing halo from ground zero and up to two in preparation for 3. the only problems with game sequels is the same for monthly comic books... i can't retain the previous story in my mind... probably from all the lsd i did from '99 to '02...

"the office," season 3 dvd is good. not great, but good. the blooper reel was a let down, but over 3 hours of deleted scenes that are pure gold, was definitely a nice touch. and the commentaries. i'm still not through it all the way.

i did get a copy of the new, "HIM," album, "venus doom," which is better than the last album, "dark light," but no where near as good as their earlier works.

it seems to me that all the bands i love that were once great in my mind's eye... well, their new music just doesn't do anything for me. is music dead?

i love the song, "here's your future," by the thermals.

okay... i'm... going to try and fall back asleep for at least an hour.

premonitions and chinese food.

while it has an occasinal, amusing chuckle or two, "balls of fury," was what i expected... a mediocre comedy with truly talented comedians that i expected more from. oh well.

the one thing the movie did for me was give me this massive craving for chinese food. how is it, that we have 24 mcdonald's, taco bell and wendy's that are open till 3 a.m., but no late night/all night and day chinese take out?

i eat from only one place when it comes to chinese... "chinese kitchen," on metro pkwy and winkler. it's hands down the best and freshest chinese i've ever had. and i eat only two different meals there depending on my mood. honey chicken, or sesame chicken lunch combos... i'm telling you, i refuse to eat chinese any place else but there.

so, after figuring the bills out, i have to settle for the regular version of, "the office," season three. which is okay, but i'm so broke, i can't get season two of, "robot chicken." bummed.

the next 360 game i'm looking forward to the most isn't that far off...

search out the trailer on on gametrailers.com... it looks so good. bob and i both decree it. we want to play it.

bob's getting, "halo 3," which is cool, because i don't think i'll pick it up until it becomes dirt cheap, and until i beat the second game to get in sync with continuity. besides, i really want to play on live more than anything with it.

today is labor day. i'm gonna go to the hospital and see if i can watch women give labor?

follow roland into the darkness as he looks for his mojo.

currently listening to:

i beat, "the darkness," last night. that's two 360 games in two weeks. on a roll.

since i beat it, i started downloading every mike patton album i could find... for those who don't know, mike patton does the voice of the darkness with no special audio editing mind you, that's all him... he's gotten the most broad vocal range of anyone working in that industry today, and is also one of the biggest musical geniuses in modern american music to date. the dude can do anything... if you've never heard, "faith no more," "tomahawk," "mr. bungel," "peeping tom," etc... you've been under a rock. the dude is fucking brilliant... and insane.

he did a portion of music on the darkness soundtrack, which is one simple amazing faction to the game itself... i think i like the game more than i liked, "bioshock."

it was flawless. visually stunning. appealing to fans of marc silvestri's comic. controls were solid... it was great.

my only gripe. too short. like many of the 360 games i've played. way too short.

my next 360 title to be conquered will be, "stranglehold." i've decreed it. but i can't get that until next payday. i will begin re-playing, "the warriors," to hold me over.

best buy is offereing a special office box, boxset of, "the office," season three for ten bucks more than the regular. it comes with a dwight bobblehead and a dundie award... guess which one i'm going for? yeah...

got some comics yesterday. began reading the full seven issue run of the dark tower prequel, "the gunslinger born." so good...

wrong turn 2. i got it. it has a patton oswalt voiceover, and henry rollins is in it... is it as enjoyable as the first... no.

balls of fury... haven't seen it yet.

the rob zombie, "halloween," ordeal. okay.

i got a workprint of the film this past monday. a full week in advance.

the first fifty minutes, and it's exact, i clocked it, are incredibly well done. the backstory of young michael is intriguing and well played out. my only complaint with any of the beginning is william forsythe as the asshole boyfriend of michael's mother.

i love william as an actor, hell, he made, "the devil's rejects," for me and my money, but in this film, he just doesn't work. it feels too overacted and doesn't compliment the amazing job that sherri moon zombie actually did to a character that is to be taken serious.

she stepped up with an A game performance as a struggling mother doing what she has to do to make ends meet.

the film falls immediatley as soon as michael goes back to haddonfield. the teens are annoying and horribly acted out, with the exception of getting to see danielle harris' tits.

i don't like how malcolm mcdowell plays sam loomis as a guy who capitalized on his time with michael by writing a best selling novel.

and i didn't like the pointless end of killing, and then michael realizing it's wrong dropping his knife, only to be blasted away by the cops with loomis blubbering like a baby. it was awful.

the film on a whole towards the end was poorly written, shot, and executed by the actors involved.

i'm told the theatrical verison has a different ending, which i'm not sure what it is, but i can tell you this... i believe in zombie as a filmmaker. i do. i loved, "house of 1,000 corpses," and gushed over, "devil's rejects." i just think this wasn't something he should've tried to do.

Sunday, August 26, 2007

the funk of corpses in the air.

i beat BioShock this morning around ten something after being up since three something in the morning. correction, yesterday, since it's technically sunday now.

took took four and a half days to beat. great game. i got the happy ending. time to replay to get the other two endings and attempt to unlock the shit i didn't get before.

got an amazingly great copy of, "superbad," which if i haven't stated, is easily the funniest film i've seen in a long while. i don't think there was a moment i didn't laugh. it was written so perfectly, and it just meshed and blended with my entire sense of humor, and it had the heart at the end that it needed to propel itself from being just another R rated comedy.

i think it's a safe assumption to make in saying that the one movie i've been looking forward to seeing for the past year is finally coming to fruition this friday. rob zombie's, "halloween."

in gearing up for the event, i download the soundtrack which isn't nearly as good as his, "devil's rejects," soundtrack, but good none the less. i'm not big on adding dialogue from the film to a soundtrack cd, but, to each his own. i just feel it adds a false pretense to the film's outline.

i also bought, "halloween," the original carpenter classic on dvd, as well as the two disc documentary, "halloween: 25 years of terror." they both came with a free ticket to see the new zombie flick.

i'm so engulfed in zombie's vision, i've been downloading supposed, "drafts," of the script, which are all obviously different, though unique, in attempt to get a better understanding of what he wants to achieve in the film.

i like the idea that he wants to give michael an identity. a backstory. why he is the way he is, why he wears, "the mask," and so on and so forth, whereas john carpenter's vision was more meant to be more simple in that, you put a man in a mask who doesn't speak, just moves, and kills. a force, as carpenter called it, of just mass destruction with no reason behind it. meaning it's more terrifying to not know anything about a man who seems to kill with no intent or emotion. and he was right... in 1978.

i'm just stoked to see another zombie film. i like the guy as a filmmaker. he's good at it. sue me.

and now... re-watch, "the office," season two... only another week to get through for season three's release. spank yo momma...

oh yeah, one more thing. a treat for you's all... can you guess which young mullet wearer in this fred savage classic, "the wizard," went onto play everyone's favorite webslinger?

"that's the big daddy... he protects the little sister..."

this game...

is unfuckinbelievablyfuckinridiculously AMAZING!

there have been a handful of 360 games that have come out that have really held my attention, to the point of not really sleeping during my regular sleep hours during the work week, just so i could play said game/games.

BIOSHOCK is definetly one of the many.

let's put a head on the list of 360 titles to really get me going:

-crackdown.
-condemned: criminal origins.
-peter jackson's king kong [the first game based on a film that was better than the film.]
-gears of war.
-the darkness.

i'm sure there are others, but i've been up since three in the morning with it being six eighteen now, and i'm heading into an eight and a half hour work day that will directly be followed by a shower, cold bottle of beer, and the next however many hours i pump into playing this game.

i'll go into more specifics at a later date.

also, there may be a dust and snow bi-weekly comic coming, written by myself, and illustrated by my friend chris, ala wrathofconn.

let the FRIDAY COMMENCE! VIVA RAPTURE!

"this is a glimpse into what your life could be..."

friday i drove in search of getting a beanbag. i do a lot of my gaming in the livingroom, and i need a big, cushiony beanbag to sit in while geeking out... however, no one seems to have beanbags. target, nor walmart. bummer.

i did cave in and spend twenty bucks on, "the aqua teen hunger force colon movie."

i didn't care for it much when i saw it in theaters, and in some aspects, still don't, but it comes with a bonus disc with an 80 minute deleted movie, that essentially is another cut of the flick, and is much funnier. carl is funnier. as well as shake.

the following image, is a shot i took with the digital cam, of my tv, to show you the new game i love on xbox live arcade... 3d Ultra Mini-Golf rules...

in three and a half hours, i'll be at amc watching, "superbad." that's how i'm spending my sunday morning. watching a vulgar comedy. i'm pretty sure jesus is cool with it.

i think i've made the decision to never go to church again, unless it's for something for a friend or family member. and it's not because i've lost my faith... i just don't see the point anymore. i get annoyed with church. i hate standing in the morning for fifteen minutes listening to people sing music that i really don't enjoy, and then sitting for the next hour to an hour and a half listening to someone, boringly talk scriptures and find a way to incorporate them into current events. i've read the bible. i have belief and faith in my heart. enough said.

going to church is like going to a sexual harrasment meeting at work. you know what to expect, you know what's coming, you know right from wrong, but still, you're insisted on going to somehow clarify that you're not a complete fuckhead. whatever...

cee-lo from gnarls barkley/musical genius has a new side project coming out called, "heart attack." i'm always last to hear about cool shit like this, but i did get a four track sampler of what heart attack sounds like, and it's really good, seventies-like soul music. i look forward to hearing the full album.

going back to rehab.

tonight, i'm depressed. not sure why. i'm gonna keep listening to sage francis throughout the evening, keep a steady dose of painkillers in my system, and possibly go to some thrift stores and maybe eat at papa john's... i'm just gonna go for a drive...

ice monster and chainsaw granados...

first off, my phone stopped working, so, i get everyone's messages, but i cannot call, so, yeah. sorry. not much i can do about that. i'm broke. phoneless i shall be.

my right testicle is still sore. not as bad mind you as the day i entered the e.r., but it's, and i know this sounds funny, but the only word i can find, is, tender. it really feels like some alien hybrid is in my body... i half excpect gillian anderson and david duchovny to waltz in and tell me i'm proof of the alien testicular conspiracy... speaking of, word from both of them is a script is written, and x-files 2 starts filming in november... supposedly a veer from the alien conspiracy, this is gonna be a straight-forward horror flick. nice.

since i've been doped up and whatnot, i began listening to more music, and playing old games.

resident evil 4. gamecube.

i've beat the game four times straight through, and to this day in lingers in the top 5 greatest games i've ever played. however, i have not been playing the story mode, but rather, working my way through, "the mercanaries."

i've unlocked all characters on a four star rating with the exception of one...

every time i go to complete the fourth map that will unlock him, this douchebag always get's me with a head lop-off...

the chainsaw granado is the hardest fucker in the game for me. he moves so fast it's unreal.

minus the bear, one of my favorite bands, put this album out this year...

i recommend not only getting it, but seeking out the four track e.p. bonus album that came with certain prints. it's just as good as their first LP, "highly refined pirates," way better than their last LP, "menos el oso," and as good as the remix album released for, "menos el oso."

minus the bear is just an amazing melodic rock/indie band.

i'm waiting on two downloads. "smokin' aces," and, "lollilove." i look forward to watching those movies.

also, black, seedless grapes from sweetbay are amazingly delicious, and, i had forgotten how much i loved cauliflower. i'm on this fruit and veggie kick. the testy thing kinda scared me into eating healthier...

stranglehold.

seeing as how i'm still sore, i took one extra day off from work. i've never really felt a soreness like this before...

so, my day will be spent sitting, legs open, on the couch, playing, "double agent."

i did however, want to comment on a demo i got off xbox live.

john woo's, "stranglehold," starring, in pixel form, chow yun fat.

i had no desire from the time i read about this game in, "game informer," until this morning, to really play this game. it just didn't seem my cup of tea... however, i do enjoy free demos, and decided, why not.

what i got, was unexpected.

the graphics are nothing special considering the console, but the controls and story alone are incredible. the controls more so than the story. and that's an oddity for me to exclaim seeing as how i'm a whore for story, but the barrage of neat things you can do with your character aptly named, "inspector tequila," yes, it's a sequel to woo's '92 film, "hard boiled," is just amazing.

you have a bullet time sort of thing, but you can slide down rail posts and go into your bullet time, and then at the same time, jump and dive while firing round after round into hong kong baddies, and then right as you come to the bottom of the railing, land on a four wheel watermelon cart, and go sliding around on your belly while on the cart, blasting enemies. it's fucking sweet.

you can jump backwards, land on your back, and just stay on the ground rolling around blasting fuckers in the balls or the head.

and my personal favorite, this thing called stand-off, where when you get surrounded by four or more guys, you go into this first person, slow motion perspective, popping off rounds, while matrix like dodging theirs.

you can enter this bomb mode, and signal in on a certain area of their body, i like the headshots, fire a round, and watch it from the bullets perspective as it marks a nice hole where it lands, pouring blood out everywhere.

this is the first demo i ever played all the way through. i seriously couldn't find myself able to put the controller down.

a rare gem thought to be shit, will be owned by me the end of this month. next week i get, "bioshock," and i'm definetly trading in some stuff for, "stranglehold."

casanova douchenstein and the immeasurable, persistent dream.

i'm not going to go into detail, but yesterday, i was in the e.r. of lee memorial hospital... i had severe pains in my right testicle that could have been a number of possibilities including, but not limited to:

-hernia.
-kidney stone.
-some weird thing where the testicle actually twists around and gets infected resulting in emergency surgery to remove said testicle, this was the one they were most concerned about... how's it's not worse than the one below is beyond me...

or... the worst, testicular cancer.

in the end, it was epididymitis that had poisoned my body. an early stage to a nasty infection located inbetween my sperm duct and urinary tract.

to end this swiftly, i'm gonna be okay, knock on wood, as long as the antibiotics are of use. i was put on an antibiotic and a heavy dosage of percocet that is so high, i get nauseous.

today i fell asleep while watching the x-files and had a dream that has been recurring the past two weeks, and it essentially involves hanging out with nicholas cage, running my own comedy club, and somehow at the end of the dream, every time, there's a scenario where i'm trying to be with my ex again. it's always at her son's birthday party, and i'm not sure why i continue to dream this is some form or another.

it's funny how when you're awake, you're so sure of your views, choices, and perspectives, yet when we fall into slumber, we see this other side that confuses us when we wake.

the following movies i recently saw that i enjoyed:

-hannibal rising.
-doctor strange. [animated]
-the invincible iron man. [animated]
-hot rod. [i know... i can believe it either, but it made me laugh... and i hate andy samberg.]

the new iron & wine e.p. is really good...

The kettle burned cause I left it too long
and we were kissing with the radio on
the cat was choking on a rattle snake bone
the town had gathered round the soldier boy carried home

carried home...

The sick kids ate up all the red clay
and every summer there was imminent rain
the late judge teetered in a john boat
the town had gathered round the soldier boy carried home

carried home...

The broken window and the pretty blue sky
and cold water for my swollen black eye
we shook some money from your mother's old clothes
when all had gathered round the soldier boy carried home

carried home...

missing home.

it's funny how a little sufjan stevens, some ice cream, and endless memories can bring you back to a place you hated so much when you were young, but love so dearly when you're old enough to know better.

i was born at dickenson county memorial hospital on april 2, 1980. that's located in iron mountain, michigan, which directly connects with or through: quinnesec, norway, and kingsford, MI., as well as aurora, and niagara, WI.

i lived in kingsford for the better part of my youth before moving to florida.

i also lived in crystal falls, MI., which is on the outskirts of where i was born, in the middle of the forest more or less. regardless of where it all was, it was all a part of the U.P... the upper peninsula.

the people that live in the upper peninsula have become more commonly known as, "yoopers," thanks to a local traveling comedy/music group properly titled, "da yoopers."

a yooper to me is a combination of a canadian, a little hillbilly, and a good chunk of frozen brain matter. because anyone who lives up in that weather will tell you, to live in that cold, you'd have to be brain dead. but oddly enough, the love i have for the cold is one thing florida cannot take from me.

even though my definition of a yooper is my own, there are others who have dedicated their lives to digging into the historical values of a yooper which you can read more about at the link i put at the bottom of this post.

yoopers have a distinct accent. it's sorta canadian fused with a north dakota/minnesota accent... like, "heya, oh yah, donchaknow..." my mom has the queen of yooper accents, and both of my uncle gary's tower with thick yooper men accents. my cousins as well. i have one that only comes out when i'm visiting up there... my voice deepens and pronounces everything at a yooper decibel.

the upper peninsula truly is a world of it's own that if you haven't experienced in it's essence on your own with your own eyes, ears, and nose, then you will never understand what i mean.

for me, growing up their as a kid, the closest, and i mean, the closest, not gospel mind you, but closest thing i can compare it to in terms to being a kid, is the movie, "a christmas story."

the schools, the snow, the kids, the awful snow suits we were forced to wear to school on winter days... that shits all true.

i haven't seen it, but my mom tells me jeff daniels movie, "escanaba in da moon light," is a good interpretation of life in the U.P.

i began writing this with the nostalgic notion of my life there, and how even though i'm grateful i'm somewhere outside of the U.P., that deep inside, there's a part of me that misses it dearly. part of me wants to move back and live there among old friends that never left, and family that's just as nutty as i've grown to be...

i miss things like this so very much...

if you really want to find out more about who i was born to and where i really come from, go here... and no, this is no joke... this is how people from the upper peninsula are... trust me, i'm related to them...

frustrations.

my vacation for the year, my one week to myself, had it's phasers set to boner cool... the new coheed and cambria album came out this particular week in question, along with part two of the final sopranos dvd season six set, and... also... GRAND THEFT AUTO 4! but... now... this just in via 1up.com...

GTA IV Delayed Until Spring 2008
Rockstar says it needs more time to finish the game.
By Sam Kennedy, 08/02/2007

This just in... Take-Two has announced that Grand Theft Auto IV is being delayed until Spring of 2008 due to "additional development time required to complete the title." We'll have more on this story shortly, but here are a bit of the explanations that came with today's announcement:

"With Grand Theft Auto IV, Rockstar is setting a new standard for next generation video games," stated Strauss Zelnick, Chairman of Take-Two. "Certain elements of development proved to be more time-intensive than expected, especially given the commitment for a simultaneous release on two very different platforms. We all recognize that perfecting the game is vital and I can assure everyone it will be worth the wait. We owe it to the game's millions of fans, to our dedicated development team, and to our shareholders to make sure that Grand Theft Auto IV is a groundbreaking gaming experience that takes maximum advantage of next generation technology."

"The new consoles are allowing us to create the Grand Theft Auto game we always dreamed about," added Sam Houser, Founder and Executive Producer of Rockstar Games. "Every aspect of the game and its design has been completely transformed. The game is huge and is pushing the hardware platforms to their absolute limits. The top engineers from Sony and Microsoft are working closely with the team in Edinburgh right now, helping us to fully leverage the power of both platforms. As always, our goal is to surpass even the wildest expectations of the game's fans, and to create the ultimate high definition video game experience."

Stay tuned for more on this story as we get it.

well fuck me... should i bother taking a vacation now? i don't think so... i had plan to utilize that week at the end of october, beginning of november to immerse in gta goodness of bloodshed and prostitution, and now... no... first manhunt 2, and now this... at least i got bioshock this month... i hope...

and now... the trailer for the aqua teen hunger force game coming to ps2...

the last of the vicodin and diet coke. currently listening to:

so last night, i watched the first episode of, "the two coreys." A&E's version of a reality show, in which corey haim goes to live with corey feldman and his wife... never has two stars fallen so hard... the show is so obviously scripted as most reality tv is, and is just plain bad. i read a review of the show before hand where entertainment weekly wrote, "a direct to dvd sequel of, "license to drive," would have been better than this show..." it's so true.

the new e.p., enchanted hill, by, "the album leaf," is incredibly beautiful and soothing...

despite not enjoying the film, and hating krispi creme donuts, i must say, the new, "springfield sprinkalicious," donut, made to promote the simpsons movie at 7-11's nationwide... well, is just really damn delicious. so much so, that i bought an entire box of them.

and on a side note, i just want to say, in regards to the rash of local scene kids here in ft. myers who seem to have jumped on this whole, "hardcore," music bandwagon... i just have to come out and say, hardcore, or punk, or whatever you call it these days, is about as gay as you can get without actually putting a cock in your mouth and slurping jizz... i fucking hate hardcore and i hate the local hardcore bands in florida even more.

Sunday, July 29, 2007

another sunday morning.

watched, "the simpsons movie."

...aside from spiderpig/harry plogger bit, the death of green day that included mike dirnt's classic line, "guys... it's been an honor rocking with you," and homer flipping off the town as he slowly sunk in the sinkhole, the movie, like i predicted, was a failure to me.

i stopped liking simpsons after season three. it just lost it's charm. i've tried watching newer episodes to give it a more fair shot, and it's just not funny to me.

"zodiac," was a pretty good flick. i like how fincher covered the killings from the beginning in '68 right up until '91. people said it was this and the length that didn't cream up for them, but i say, the story, for me, was solid enough to keep me motivated from scene to scene. so much in fact, that i think i want to own the movie.

"hot fuzz," comes out tuesday. looking forward to that.

i'm miserable.

"is someone taking your faith, it's real, the pain you feel, the life, the love, you die to heal, the hope that stops the broken heart."

i'm sad today.

sad and lonely thinking of that damn english girl that just lives in my mind on a lukewarm, april 14th evening, off a moonlit beach, falling further into the power of her all encompassing beauty...

that's why i'm listening to...

...sadness deserves unhealthy, melodic, acoustic music.

the three minute trailer for, "resident evil 5," on 360/ps3 follows... that's the only thing positive i'll post here...

Apollo I : The Writing Writer.

my incoherent laziness has kept me from making an update. i've been sick. i can use that as an excuse, right?

yesterday, my mother turned 49. i called her and wished her a happy birthday. the schmuck of a son i am, can't afford to get her what a gift until this coming tuesday on payday. i feel bad for not having it there on her day.

i've watched a lot of movies this past week and half. i still have, "zodiac," and "the number 23," waiting to be watched, but, i'll get to those another time...

i'll give brief caps on the films i did see, and move on. not all will have the fun, accompanying pictures i normally would put with them.

SURF'S UP
i only saw this out of sheer boredom, and was actually very ammused with it. it's not a bad way to kill 80 minutes, and brian posehn as the wiseass brother was pretty good.

I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU, CHUCK AND LARRY

this is easily the funniest sandler flick i've seen since, "the wedding singer." it really is. i was gasping for breathe on several parts, and it's not just one character that hysterical, it's all of them in their own right. the movie is well written with just the right sight gags at just the right moment, and it's pro-gay, so you know my pudgy butt's on board.

i know a lot of people that truly disliked, "28 days later." the number one complaint being, "it's not a zombie flick like i expected."

what's funny to me is i never got that from any trailer shown for the film. it looked like a disease outbreak film. nothing more.

all the same, i liked, "28 days later," but not enough to own it.

now... "28 weeks later," well... that's another story, which i won't go into, but instead leave you with this. visually, it's remarkable. story, so fucking good beyond recognition. the acting, spectacular. the right people cast. and the soundtrack, brilliant.

i'm almost half tempted to own the first one just so i can own this one comfortably.

i bought the two disc, 20th anniversary dvd. it's just as fun, and cheesy as i remember it. one of the best, "goonie," type of films, to come from my childhood is finally given the remastered rewards on dvd. go buy it! it rules!

and the two dvd's i'm looking forward to getting...

obviously... and...

i'm so pumped to re-watch season three, but more than that, the deleted scenes and the half hour gag reel, which was the best feature on season two.

i love, "the office," so very much. both versions, but the US version has this relateable quality that falls on deaf ears for me with the BBC version.

i saw the first three episodes of, "weeds," season three. they're brilliant with a nice use of music from, "the thermals."

i saw the un-aired pilot for, "terminator: the sarah conner chronicles." it's a fifty minute long episode and i got eight minutes into it before i stopped it. it's so bad. so very bad. it picks up two years after T2, and... it's just bad.

the deathly hallows and the shallow sewers...

at midnight, just a few hours ago, raving mad women, and some men, went apeshit in getting the final harry potter book.

now, i'm no aficiando on potter. i buy the books when they become cheap paperbacks, and i watch the movies but i'm not madly obsessed over them.

do i think they're good reads or viewings? absolutely. if you like fantasy along the lines of labyrinth and dark crystal, then why not this? it's a fantasy story.

do i think religious groups and strict parents like my cousin who think it promotes witchcraft go a little to far with the protesting? yep... the way i see it, if you teach your kid right from wrong, and are there for them, to explain the difference between what is real and what is not, then it'll be okay... at least the kids are learning to read and not out doing drugs or robbing blue haired old rags.

i'm not worried if i read spoilers from the book on the net. i already know dumbledore died at the hand of snape in the last book, and i have yet to read it.

i downloaded the dvd screener last night for...

wow. how did i not see this film in the theater? i mean it. seriously. what an amazing film.

there's not question in my mind that i will buy the dvd next month when it comes out. it's that good.

story wise, it picks up a few years after the first live action film that jim henson's company helped make. it's just as gritty, and intense, and funny, and everything i remembered loving about the ninja turtles as a kid.

every time i hear they're updating something from my childhood, a little part of me groans angrily, and i vow never to get involved with the projects, and i was prepared not to with this, but something in me told me to just download it and watch it, and man i'm glad i did.

the scene where leo is standing next to the jet on the plane with that moody, metal riffing background music... i swear, fucking hairs on my neck stood up with that old giddy feeling of being a kid... just like when my dad and i hopped on his motorbike and he took me to our old two-plex to see the first live action film...

they leave it open for a sequel and honestly, if kevin munroe writes and directs the next one like he did with this... i'm fucking down. especially since they referenced shredder possibly making a return from the grave...

you know who i miss these days...?

gone too soon...

okay, well, i also downloaded the last two episodes of ghost hunters, as well as the dvd screener for, "disturbia," which i did see in the theater and love... so... i gotta go watch those...

kids in the hall.

tonight the kids in the hall reunite for two nights at the montreal, "just for laughs," comedy fest. i would gladly sell my nuts to go to that show.

i've been listening to this instrumental group, "this will destroy you," lately... fantastic music to take painkillers to.

i go back to the neurologist today. tell him the steroids didn't work too well. i was to go into work and leave early, but this morning i woke up to myself violently coughing, and before i knew it, i was vomiting blood and bile... so, i called off. i'm a bit unsettled by the whole affair...

i actually hate being home right now because i'm incredibly bored. i'm surrounded by movies, games, and books, but none of them due me what i need...

as a treat for you all, i found one of my favorite bits from KITH... dave foley doing what he does best...

today's blog...

when i pre-ordered the new patton oswalt album, a little part of me was sad, because since the record store closed last year, i was unable to obtain promo stuff from subpop, which, as fate would have had it, posters for the promotion of, "werewolves and lollipops."

now, anyone who knows me, knows how much of a homo i am for framing posters of comedians i adore, and when i saw a guy selling promo flats for said album on ebay for twenty bucks... i almost caved. i did.

but... being the sensible man that i am, i simply called subpop's offices out west, told them my situation, the dire fan, i pre-ordered the album through them and was happy with it, i worked at a record store that closed, blah blah blah... you know what they said?... "what's your address?"

today, i got a package from subpop... this is what was in it...

yep... posters, stickers, and buttons. BAM! who rules nerdcore!? me baby... me...

don't make him angry......you won't like him, when he's angry...

i really enjoy the weekends.

for instance, this weekend, meant i got paid. my raise went through and it's a nice little chunk of change more, and i finally began to make a dent in the debt's i owe. a little more to go and i'll be caught up.

got groceries, including real bagels, and not those lenders pieces of shit, with cream cheese, got my comics, and all that's left is a new shower curtain, and a haircut.

shanna checked out, "superman returns," on xbox 360 for me, and i gotta say, despite having a bad demo i played a while back, the game itself, is really rather good. like, i've been playing it all morning kinda good.

also on xbox live, they're offering the first austin powers film for free as a download, so i'm gonna go back a few years and see that film again... i think the last time i watched it was when it first came into theaters, so maybe it'll rekindle some laughs.

the new potter film was all shades of fucking excellent. i know a lot of people who want to trash on the harry potter franchise, and believe me, when they first got big, i was there with you trashing along, but then... i read the book and watched the movie, and they're both pretty damn good as far as a story goes.

the new film was gloriously dark, and took the place of my favorite film in the series, knocking out, "goblet of fire," for first place. david yates did a great job at the helm of this tale, and so did this little sexpot...

still... i wanted neville to just flat out gut the bitch, but, whatever.

two other things i need to mention. two things that i desperatley wanted to hate but somehow don't.

if you take away michael bay, and the whole concept that what you're watching what is "supposed," to be a movie based on the transformers, it's not a bad action film.

if you a hardcore fan, i can see you hating it, but fanbase aside, it's a visual splendor.

i was never a big fan of transformers growing up so i had no desire to see the flick, but found it had gotten pirated online, and checked it out and to my astonishment, was overall impressed, although incredibly irritated with the hokeyness of the acting and quips. but, what can you do. i still hate michael bay.

the second...

i wanted so much to hate this album based on the past two solo efforts of corgan alone, "zwan," and his solo effort, "the future embrace," and the fact that he was calling this new incarnation of him and chamberlin, "the smashing pumpkins," when he's missing two other core members.

i went into listening this album with the idea i was gonna detest and loathe it. and honestly, that's not the case. not by a long shot.

it's not, "gish," "siamese dream," "melon collie and the infinite sadness," "pisces acariot," or, "adore," which i personally love all very dearly, but it stands it's ground as a good rock album.

it seems half personally written, and half politically driven. who knows... but it is worth an honest listen... i never thought i'd say that about another billy corgan record... proven wrong once again.

have i said how much i really love the real bagels you get at a bagel store? possibly the best thing next to sliced bread... toast it up, slather on some cream cheese and i'm in fatty heaven...

the water line is rising.

i want to get another job. i want to do something more meaningful.

i was thinking about how i've bit my tongue on my thoughts towards a select group of people i know, all of this is past tense mind you, and how today it was going to be my intention to basically air all my laundry, all my opinions, and just vent about these people that i loathe with every fiber of my being... but then i thought some more... what good would it do? it wouldn't matter. they're fucking losers and assholes, and rightful cunts in their own respect, and i'm better in the long run for not having them in my life, so fuck it. and fuck them.

i thought about how truly content i am, being single, and how in the past i've told myself over and over after one relationship would end, "don't get into another one. you're not good at them, and you eventually get the longing to be alone, so don't get into one..."

i think about that and how i think this time around, from here on out, i think i can finally make peace with that thought, and enforce it.

when i was younger, sex was a big thing for me, but honestly, as much as i use it as a platform for discussion and strictly humor based purposes... i'm okay with not having sex for a long time. if ever. and i really mean that. i might get an urge on day, but i can deal. i don't even have the urge to jack off. go figure.

this week is payweek on friday. bills, check. groceries, check. comicbooks, check. gas, check.

this weekend, go see two movies, yes, the new harry potter, and, "captivity." take a vicodin and read comicbooks.

i've been playing the, "family guy," game on my playstation 2 since i beat, "bully." it's very repetitive, but i've found lately that no matter how a game is generally, i find that i'm forcing myself to play through them.

two new albums you should get and listen to endlessly...

arcade fire : neon bible and, sage francis : human the death dance.

these fucking mosquitoes can go away as well.

as a bonus to everything, here's a video of comedian bill burr, in what has been described by patton oswalt as the comedian's dream of giving it back to hecklers and booers, going off on a crowd in philly during his opie and anthony tour... it's amazingly funny to me when he says, "go and worship your fucking statue of rocky... a fucking fictional movie character... yeah, joe frazier's from here, but you can't deal with the fact he's black, so you worship a fictional italian movie character... fuck you all!"

soma light blue eyes. when will it all end?

today, saturday the 7th of july, '07, subpop gave me a treat three days early. they sent me this...

yep. patton oswalt's new album.

i had already gotten an advance copy and fell in love with it immediately, but people i support heavily such as patton, i buy their work. and this one, aside from being a great stand-up set, also included a dvd with the 40 watt show i attended last october in athens, georgia. sadly they edited some of the stuff out that i would have enjoyed seeing again, specifically, where he does an impersonation of how much dane cook is a douche bag. but... they did keep in the guy getting peed on by another guy in the audience which i had forgotten about until i watched the dvd... that was one of the best shows i've ever been to... i love athens.

i've been reading a lot lately. amazon and ebay have been my friends as far as getting the reading material i've been consumed by. more than anything, a good collective of garth ennis' work.

when you're a comicbook fan like myself, you tend to find those creators out there, beit artists or writers, that you attach yourself to, and stick with religiously. for me, it's always been:

-sam kieth. [i have a separate box devoted strictly to his work.]
-brad meltzer.
-stephen seagle.
and the topic of conversation... garth ennis.

i've more or less been on a goal kick for a long time, trying to maintain everything he's ever done, which has proved a challenge, but one i'm taking in baby steps.

if you haven't read, "preacher," you need to stop reading this and go out and collect the 9 book tpb series.

i have many trades lying on my bookshelf. some i've read many times, some i haven't read at all... the following is one of those books... it sat for many years collecting dust with me not knowing who wrote it, or who drew it... i bought it for a buck on a bargain bin shelf based on the characters, title, and cover alone...

recently, since i've been on an ennis kick, i've been researching his bibliography only to find out, that the above book, was one from his catalog.

needless to say, i dusted it off and read it within ten minutes. it's a short written story, and i'm amazed i let myself go this long without reading the fucking thing.

it centers around a group of people who've been disfigured or affected by the intervening of superheroes surrounding their world over the years, and they end up hiring frank castle to basically, over the course of six years, kill every hero in the marvel universe. it's a really good read if you can track it down.

on top of reading lately, i've been consumed by a rather incredible stand-up album...

david cross, next to patton oswalt, is a genius.

i've had this album, along with his other sub pop release, "shut up, you fucking baby," for many moons, and only recently, began to re-listen to them both.

you really should do yourself a favor if you hate republicans, organized religion, and raw comedy, and pick this and his other album up.

i'm starting to sound like an infomercial more and more everyday.

the final topic of discussion for today, is a video i wanted all of you to watch in it's entirety.

back in the 90's, same time as, "kids in the hall," was on, another show popped up in the vein of KITH... it was called, "the vacant lot."

the show features four members in the troupe who at one point in time where background players on KITH. in fact, mark mckinney's younger brother, nick, is a main member of vacant lot.

now i had enjoyed this show just as much as i had KITH, however, most people didn't get it, and it eventually failed after a few episodes, which i have never been able to track down... that is until the wonders of youtube.

i have posted for you, one of the funniest sketches from the show, and one of the funniest sketches i've ever seen... period. it made me gasp for breath last night as i rekindled myself with the show, and my roommates can back that up...

so... i present to you with pride and joy, the vacant lot's, "blinded by the light."

new format.

as you can see, i've spent the past three hours blanded on vicodin, listening to smashing pumpkins', "siamese dreams," and re-vamping the entire site.

some of the new blogger features i downloaded were tricky to figure out, but in the end, through patience and diet coke, i got it done...

later today, possibly tomorrow at the latest, i will have a bigger update of things, including an album you must listen to, as well as my thoughts on the amazing writing talents of garth ennis. stay tuned.

the fourth.

fourth of july. the day we celebrate our independence. the day we stole the country from the native american, and the country we so desperately try to keep keep safe from illegal immigrants.

a day we gorge ourselves in hotdogs and burgers, and other fattening foods to prove we are the nation of gluttons.

a day were we celebrate our independence by lighting off fireworks manufactured in china.

i was gonna give you all a treat today and post the video of bruce mcculloch reading his hysterically funny bit on america from the canadian perspective, but i couldn't find the video, so instead, i uploaded the bit from his first album, and posted it below. give it a few seconds to load and you can either stream it, or download it. it's one of the funniest, and intelligant bits i've ever heard.

bruce mcculloch - that's america.

take your wings outside.

there's nothing quite like driving under dim skies with rain pouring down on your car, as the numb feeling of vicodin takes a hold of you, and guns n' roses, "november rain," plays in the background...

"live free or die hard," was an outstanding film. it was a nice addition to the series, and made me think how i could watch a new john mclain film every year for the rest of my life.

goodburger/taco ardiente, right next to lookers on fowler street, has the best, thee BEST, hard shell taco and cheeseburger i've ever eaten. period.

evening with kevin smith 2 for fourteen bucks. bamf!

i'll probably be drunk this evening. really drunk...

i need to get my pole polished.

my hand is throbbin.

oh yeah... THE DARKNESS ON 360 IS THE NEW GEARS OF WARS... meaning it's fucking good and has my attention held 24/7. get the game and indulge in a top cow comic game... you'll think, "why don't they just make comicbook games like this and not comicbook movies like, "spiderman 3?" it's such a good fucking game. the same people who made, "chronicles of riddick: escape from butcher bay," made this... it's worth it.

another game i had forgotten but loved...

i beat, "bully," and decided to go through old games i hadn't played in a while, and i picked up, "killzone," with a fondness in mind, dusted it off, and restarted the game from the scratch...

i really do love this game dearly... too many people expected halo on playstation when this came out, but you can't look at it that way... you have to look at it for what it is... it... is it's own game, not halo. and truthfully... i like, "killzone," more than i like halo... and i fucking really like halo, so... yeah.

oh yeah, when i die, let it be known, at my memorial, i want lynard skynard's, "simple man," to play on repeat.

garth ennis and the technicolor comicbooks.

i must be out of my fucking mind... i just bid a total of over sixty bucks on two, very rare, and very long out of print graphic novels. both are the first two books that garth ennis ever did... in comics in general. these date back to '89, and haven't been in print since then... it'll be so worth it... fucking ennis rules.

Saturday, June 23, 2007

good job jack thompson!, you fuckstick!

so, chris was right, and i didn't want to believe him... manhunt 2 is on hiatus until take two can figure out what their options are... fuck. i was really looking forward to that game.

did some running around today. bought some groceries and the reno 911 movie. a bit disappointed in the lack of special features... although the 20 minute jeff spoder house scene was funny.

i went to target and realized that i want to see every female that works there, naked. and possibly put fingers into orifices... hmmm...

on the comicbook front, i got my usual pull stuff... JLA, JSA, Powers, etc... and picked up the tpb for volume one of, "Justice," the alex ross painted JLA mini-series, and the tpb for garth ennis', "The Boys." really good stuff if you like to see superheroes die violently to keep the status quo in check.

a band i've been listening to a lot lately that you should listen to as well...

caspian is amazing... all of their stuff is good. you should also listen to:

-this will destroy you : young mountain.
-saxon shore : four months of darkness.

i saw the new coffee table book HBO put out to coincide with the finale of, "the sopranos," at BJ's, and if not for the delux hardcover edition coming out in october with added stuff... i would have bought it.

i also bought the 21st anniversary golden edition of, "the toxic avenger,"

i'd love to write more boring shit about my life, but i have some comics i wrote that i need to draw out while listening to the background ambience of patton oswalt...

p.s... aintitcool.com has a pick of harrison in indy gear on the set of the new film... bamp!

Friday, June 22, 2007

"i would rather learn brain surgery than start stand-up again." - dane cook.

i'd rather dane cook learn brain surgery as well, then he wouldn't annoy the fuck out of me with his fratboy douchebaggedness... here's a newsflash for some, i fucking hate dane cook.

true, at one point, i did find some of his... bits?, humorous, more specific, the stuff off of disc two of, "retalitation." but, aside from that, the guy is an asshole that people bow to for some reason as being really funny. he ripped off most of his material from louis ck and other GREAT comedians... fucking hate that guy. movie star shithead.

"1408." very impressive flick. i dug it quite a bit.

veruca salt's ep, "lords of sounds and lesser things," is a good chunk of music.

"jimmie's chicken shack," is playing next thursday here in town. i'll be in attendance.

Tuesday, June 19, 2007

"i thought i was looking at my mother's old douchebag, but that's back in ohio." -booger.

got the, "revenge of the nerds," boxset for five bucks. all four movies, the first with bonus stuff, with a great feature looking back on the film with most of the original cast, deleted scenes, and the fabled, horrendous, "revenge of the nerds," television pilot.

the film, after some time, still stands tall as a good comedy.

Sunday, June 17, 2007

things to ponder.

before i begin, i never said my peace on the finale of, "the sopranos."

i was, like many others, incredibly unhappy with how david chase chose to complete a show i invested not only my time in, but myself as well.

now that some time has passed, i can see the logic behind his decisions, but still upset with the basic, "fuck you," he knowingly left us with.

i have been dealing with some insufferable back pains for two days now, that i'm treating with massive handfuls of motrin.

took puddin' to the vet yesterday, and she's doing really good which makes me very happy, and she got to hang out with all kinds of other cool dogs that made her go apeshit... like, "HEY DOUG! THERE'S ANOTHER DOG! HEY DOUG!? DO YOU SEE? HUH, DOUG, DO YOU SEE THAT OTHER DOG!? HEY DOG! HEY, YEAH YOU!... FUCK YOU! LET ME SNIFF YOUR ASS!"

went and saw, "fantastic four: rise of the silver surfer."

honestly, i wanted to say from the first fifteen minutes that this film was gonna be bad, but it was pretty amazing. the surfer was pretty awesome with laurence fishburne as his voice.

overall, aside from the glamoring of the team itself, the story was pretty strong. i didn't, however, care for how tim story did galactus.

after that, i went home and watched the special edition of, "fletch," ate a salami cibata sandwhich with red wine vinager, mayo, and mozzarella i made, took a nap, read my new comics, and then, went out and saw, "ratatouille," with mikey and colby. it was funny, like i expected it would be, and then got a pizza from stevie tomatos and hung out with my dog.

a game that currently holds my undivided attention which should be given a chance, should you have a ps2...

i killed the cd player in my carthree days ago, more reason to get an ipod with a wireless fm tuner, and thus used the tape player to listen to an album i had long forgotten was amazing...

Tuesday, June 12, 2007

sessions.

the neurologist says... i've got carpel tunnel... steroids to follow.

the depressions is flexing itself in and out of my life. some days i'm good, others, well... you get the idea.

the new alkaline trio single, "fire down below," is phenominal. i look forward to a new album.

"pan's labryinth," is a brilliant film. if you haven't seen it, you need to. stephen king called it the best film of '06... and it's a close fit between, "rocky balboa," and, "lady in the water."

"hostel part 2," was better than the first, by leaps and bounds, and i really loved the first one. good stuff.

i still like, "american pie 2."

i want to be in a relationship again, but i think right now, i'm too fucked up with head issues to even try, so i'm gonna seek out relationships in friendship form.

i'm gonna go back to reading comics.

Thursday, June 07, 2007

"but i know the right thing to do... is leave you alone..."

i feel like i'm falling apart at the seams... and then i find that my therapist has a better grasp of my life than i do...

the new white stripes... is their best work to date. period. "a martyr for my love for you," is my favorite track. easily.

"the people under the stairs," is my favorite wes craven movie.

i've got new frames coming next week. new glasses are always interesting.

i'm tired of clinging to hope.

goodnight.

in the absence of perfection.

i don't seem to have the energy, will, or passion to do much of anything anymore, least of all, keep up writing in this blog.

so, rather than promise updates coming soon, i'll say this... i'll write blogs when i feel like it.

last night, i felt emotionally and physically strained. upon mike's urging, i talked to vince, and explained everything to him. how i was feeling, and why i had hesitations about talking to him.

the one thing i love about vince, is his understanding and goodwill attitude.

he's allowing me to work one day a week, and be on call in case of an emergency, rather than work nonstop and kill myself health wise.

i tried to do it, and thought i could make it work, and four years ago, i could have, but now... not so much.

my life is pretty dull right now. work, comics, sleep, repeat.

i got this really sweet, 36 by something sized poster of michael turner's roster of the justice league of america. that made me happy, as well as the 14 disc, ultimate superman set i got.

a new album you all need to get when released, because it's so good...

the reason why season six of smallville is fucking amazing...

one more episode left of the sopranos... this past sunday's... wow... a whole lot of good men... dead... just wow.

Sunday, May 27, 2007

you're my oxygen. i don't want to breathe without you.

the long overhaul, overdue?, update for may '07.

i started working a week and a half ago at the theater again. second job. it's okay. better than the grey era, but different. it will never be how it was when i was eighteen, but that's life i guess.

the new era of employees are a new experience for me. to see the new people come in, is like a revised, "save by the bell," show... it's kinda cool. doug, tyler, santos, justin... they're A-OKAY.

i'm tired and blank most of the time. when i'm irritated with something these days, i'm usually too tired to give a shit to bother arguing, so i let it go.

i have today off so that's a bonus in my bank.

i begin therapy thursday. hopefully get to the bottom of depression. we'll see.

i've been listening to a few albums in a consistent rotation lately. they are:

new found glory - coming home.
tv on the radio - return to cookie mountain.
flickerstick - live from atlanta.
mc chris - dungeon master of ceremonies.
a perfect circle - mer de noms.
flyleaf - flyleaf.
the departed - soundtrack.
porno for pyros - good god's urge.
mogwai - happy songs for happy people.
gnarls barkley - st. elsewhere.

don't ask my why, but i listen to each album at least once during the day.

the new die hard trailer has kevin smith at the tail end of it with his cameo, and it makes me smirk. while the new halloween trailer via rob zombie's genius gives me a boner.

i had to go get my MRI done at the lehigh radiology center that doubled with the OBGYN of lehigh.

so when the receptionist asked me if i was there for an MRI with a room full of women looking at me, i said, "nope. i'm here to see my OBGYN to see if i'm pregnant..."

and that's my life. boring, funny, tiring, depressing, and sometimes blissfull while others are miserable. i have no strength to give a shit anymore. i just go through the motions.

Wednesday, May 16, 2007

"oh comely, i will be with you when you lose your breath... chasing the only meaningful memory you thought you had left."

i have slummed into this depressive funk today. i'm sunburnt, and worn out, and i begin working a second job as a projectionist, friday night.

i've been listening to a lot of, "neutral milk hotel," lately... truly one of my all time favorite bands. and another reason i cannot wait to get my ipod. i can max out that 80 gig drive with so much music, and when i get the wireless adapter, i can bring NMH to work with me in the work truck via a station...

halo 3 beta does not work with crackdown. i'm pretty upset about that, but not enough to open any veins.

i want to miss someone, but i'm not sure it would really be warranted. i always do this. like i'm trying so hard to be into something that i just don't have any place being to begin with.

i don't know how much i will write anymore. the vicodin has run dry.

Sunday, May 13, 2007

three forty-five in the morning.

i had this strange dream that i don't really remember... i also have that nasty, scummy feeling inside my mouth. the kind where i know i need to brush asap.

saw a recent picture of an ex, and it's weird, because she looks pretty on the aspect of a new hairstyle, but the past two years look like they've taken a toll on the rest of her. not weight wise, just... stress has done a number on her... and it's always nice to see a picture of her sister wearing a shirt i gave her. ah well... who cares anyway? time goes along with situations. maybe i'll listen to, "darkest days," by stabbing westward and drink blood... kidding... only kidding.

i pretty happy that the past two realtionships i've had turned out the way they did. i think back on it now, and i can't honestly see myself being in either with a real grain of reality staring back at me from them. they were experiences and i learned from them. i really hope the next one i'm in is with a somewhat sane individual. although i have my hang-ups too so i should take some blame.

this weekend is like all my other weekends. i've stayed in, well, i'm broke so i can't go anywhere anyways, though i want to see, "28 weeks later," and bob and heather have officially become roommates once again.

we watched this film, "catch and release," with jennifer garner, and kevin smith.

kevin smith plays a character that is basically me without the amount of booze consumption, but the story is lackluster love stuff.

i want to own the first two pirates movies...

bob got my rabbit ears a working, so aside from sopranos, all my other shows: 24, heroes, lost, the office, will be watched on my big tv on their regularly scheduled air dates.

my back really aches right now.

HALO lashes.

i was beside myself when i arrived home tonight to find my cable internet was down. i cried and yelled.

now it's up again.

i have an eyelash in my eye that's driving me insane.

in the time the net was down, i picked up, "HALO," and began playing it from the beginning all over again... i truly love this game.

spidey sense tingling...

i was off from work today. i left early yesterday... normally, i wouldn't be so brash to take off, but i felt sick yesterday, mainly a stomach, backdoor number two kinda thing, that carried over to today, and, i also had a doctor's visit today to see if i have carpel tunnel syndrom. the jury's still out on it. waiting for the results... but i will say this. getting electro-shocked for ten minutes is not as much fun as one might assume. it actually sucks.

i should know by friday or saturday if i will be a projectionist again. although, i feel oddly confident that i'll get the job. i hope i do. i'll be working close to eighty hours a week, but, the money, added onto the fun i had working at the theater... kinda fits. and plus, i have a lot of debt to pay off.

i'd be lying if i said i wasn't looking forward to, "spiderman 3," but truthfully, i'm looking more forward to playing the new 360 game. i kinda want to play part 2 on xbox again. give it another go. i remember loathing it, but we'll see.

i don't think there will be a spiderman movie in my lifetime that will truly give me what it is i want... to see the vulture brought to life on the big screen.

vulture is easily my favorite, and more underrated spidey villan. i would also like to see mysterio brought to life, but i feel both these villans, much as i love them, would never translate over in hollywood's eyes, because they're more unknowns to common moviegoers, whereas green goblin and doc ock are like what the joker and penguin are to batman... although... they did use ra's al ghul as a main baddy in the reinventing of batman... hmmm...

i love sandman as a villan, i do, and venom is, okay at best, but is it necessary to cram in three villans, osbourne is not forgotten, into a two and a half hour movie? that's what i though originally ruined the batman franchise back in the 90's... one at a time... if you make a quality story driven film, people will clammer for a follow-up... concentrate on one background of a villan, not three... i have a feeling i won't like this spidey as much as the first two.

i'm pretty drained. not tired drained, but i guess, just bored with things. life needs to get exciting... i want to lose weight and fight crime.

and now, in spirit of spidey week, two of my favorite, spiderman themed penny arcade comics...

last things last.

i let the vicodin take me over, and i feel the pain in my knee and hand removed... as i type this, i am listening to, "the sea and the bells," by the rachel's... music has never sounded so beautiful to me...

the new season of sopranos started of weak being the last season, but last night's episode was pure gold. i like the prospect of opening three different avenues for tony to get his due.

only four more episodes of, "24," left in the season... on the brink of war... can jack stop it? who knows...

bought a suit for the theater. chances are, and i hate getting ahead of myself, but chances are 99.9 percent that i'll be hired by next week. by my own guess. i got good references and my background check should be fine. no worries there.

i think i'll go and lay down in my bed, and just listen to music and think about a beautiful girl that i miss terribly.

tired with a twenty percent chance of a migrane.

i sit in my house, irritated that by letting my dog onto the bed with me, i blatantly invited dog urine to coat my bedsheets, leaving me to wash them... i've never yelled at a dog so much in my life.

weekends come and go so fast, it's ridiculous. if i get the projectionist job, which i think i will by the end of next week, background check which will come out fine i'm sure, then i won't even think about weekends, because i'll be working them. except for sundays. my one day off.

i went to church with mike and colby today. it was nice. i've been going on a semi-regular basis anyway, and it's nice to go with people i know.

donko came over and hung out with bob, heather, and me. fun was had by all.

i made my hormel chili dip, which, as it turns out, was succesful and there's nothing left as proof.

"patent pending," by heavens, is one of my favorite albums. period. i just framed the poster for it's past release, and is now hanging in the livingroom.

season two of, "twin peaks," is almost finished for me, and even though it's nowhere near as good as the first season, seeing david lynch as FBI regional bureau chief, gordon cole, makes it all the worth while...

werewolves and lollipops.

patton oswalt's new album, is so funny, it's impossible to describe. it's a breath of fresh air to hear a new album come from my hero of comedy, and i look forward to buying it in it's full package in july with the dvd and whatnot... for now, i need to listen to the promo copy i got some more... best line that made me lose my breath for a good five minutes?...

"hey dad, i threw your blade runner gun up on the roof... faggot..."

it's been a medicated day. i've virtually been medicated for no real reason...

i had some really good chili that this lady i work with, who thinks of me as her son, made me.

she knows i'm financially struggling so she's been making me big quantities of food to take home... this weekend, a massive bin of chili. and it's yummy.

gave the dog a bath, cleaned out my turtle, ville's tank... that's it... i'm gonna listen to some more patton and laugh.

funniest movie of the year.

it's true... i loved, "shaun of the dead." this... this is a far funnier film. cheers to edgar wright and simon pegg... nick frost too...

in other news, i'm thinking about eventually getting an 80 gig ipod. not just for the trip to europe next year, but it's comforting to think i could just lump every song or cd i have into a single little box...

it should be said about robot chicken...

robot chicken is one of my favorite shows airing on adult swim. it just is.

i'm still waiting for season two to come out on dvd, but in the mean time, i found out, that not only did george lucas himself broker half the deal, but he's also gonna star in a half hour special seth green wrote with his partner, of a robot chicken star wars spoof...

find out how it came together here.

worth a thousand words.

that image makes me giggle... because JAWS is one of my all time favorite films, and i really enjoyed black snake moan...

onto the task at hand now...

crackdown. yep. crackdown. crack down on them criminals...

initially i didn't want this game. because the demo sucked. the graphics sucked, and i just didn't want to have anything to do with it. even if they were to thrown in a halo 3 beta. to hell with them...

and then... a copy of it was given to me from a friend, to utilize on may 16th for halo 3... sweet...

somehow, i found myself putting the game in, and actually playing it... and you know what, i liked it, NAY... fell in love with it.

aside from it's completely simple structure, it makes random killing of bad guys a whole lot of fun... and what's more, imagine the excitement i got when xbox live sent me a message saying someone online wanted to join me in my pursuit of justice... a co-op player, joined in my ongoing game to help me out. a partner...

and it was then when i heard the awful banter of george clooney and that kid who played robin in the last bad batman movie...

"not just a friend... but a partner..."

the game proved itself to me to the point where when i got up in the morning before work, i played it. when i came home from work, i played it. it's addictive.

and now... i beat it... and the ending... a complete and utter let down... let's hope the sequel, woops, doesn't fail us...

...BUY IT.

not extensive at all...

nothing major to report.

in lue of being broke, i'm selling nate my guitar hero 2 set for 360. i beat it, i'm bored with it. wah-wah...

check out how much silent hill: origins on psp has changed graphically since it's inception... wow... click image for 1up's full rundown... a psp game to get excited for...

aside from the norm.

missing kate terribly. as well as mikey and colby.

found out some good news concerning a film position.

aside from only having a few ruski henchmen to dissolve in, "crackdown," like three maybe, i got the game beat.

the new sopranos was good last night. i think i've figured out what tony's fate will be.

i just got the leaked episode of the new, "heroes."

and, for the first time ever, if he makes it to the primarys, i'm voting republican this next presidential election... Mr. Rudolph William Louis Giuliani III... i want him as my president. period.

the day of pork and twin peaks...

UPDATE AS OF 9:01 PM EASTERN TIME.

i didn't really watch twin peaks all that much today... i made the ham, hung out with bob and heather for a few hours, and spent three to five hours playing, "crackdown," with xPLx Slate, in co-op mode, mowing down all three main bosses, and just having a blast... that game is like crack handjobs... like crack, but the pleasure of a good fist rub...

-END UPDATE-

a day to remember i'm sure... for this is the day of ham and the twin peaks marathon...

i am making a giant spiral cut, honey ham, along with white, sweet corn on the cob publix had on sale, six for two bucks... the ham has been in my freezer for two months... i'm broke for a while, so i will survive off of this salty pork for the next week or two... and the corn will last a day or so... i love corn on the cob...

i plan on utilizing today to get through as much of twin peaks season two as possible... i just re-watched my first season boxset, and already, can say in my opinion, that the first season was better, but overall, the show as a whole is better than i remember it when i was younger...

the pilot of, "kids in the hall," which hasn't been seen in it's entirety since the 80's on hbo, is coming to dvd in june... all i need is that, and season five, and i'm caught up on my, "kids in the hall," geekdom...

i went to see...

last night... and honestly... it was really good.

it is a modernized version of the james stewart classic, "rear window," and later re-make with christopher reeves in the title role made for tv...

but what differes this aside from current locale settings, it's much more intense and graphic...

even the stupid humor evens out the film with the equality the thrills present...

my only complaint was lack of reasoning for why the killer was a killer, because, damn... there was a lot of corpses in his crawlspace... and, a day after everything, a happy ending is brought on without second thought of the brutality of what just happened a day before...

but as a whole... good way to kill two hours...

something from my childhood comes out this week on dvd...

"the infallible blade of injustice will be engraved..."

there's nothing like the feeling of feeling weak willed by how broke you are...

hal hartley made a follow-up to his amazing film, "henry fool," and the original cast is back in fay grim.

claudio and co. made a video for one of my favorite songs off his, "prize fighter inferno," album, "my brother's blood machine." the video for, "who watches the watchmen," is below...

my big toe hurts cause i cut it...

i'm tired today.

i got a citation from the lee county code enforcement for having, "horticultural waste," in my backyard... what does that mean?

it means, the tree limbs i cut down, that i've been taking out in limited loads for the city to pick up, were too painful to look at for one of my moron neighbors, who anonymously called in the complaint...

so... i clean up the branches, and then... go around my neighborhood completely, and find things that are eyesores to me, and call them in... everyone's going down with me...

it's bad enough i'm embarrased by this, but the fact that the branches are in my backyard, out of visual sight, confirmed by the enforcement agent himself, on my property... it's stunning... stunning that i pay out the backside in taxes and mortgage installments, now, i can't have my own backyard however i choose to leave it... granted, i didn't want the branches there, but even if i did, it is MY yard...

neighbors, old people especially, are the worst... someone needs to take me out of commission when i turn fifty.

i still miss kate.

and crackdown is so good... and, xbox live... 3D mini-golf is FUN!

"how can a rooftop view in london, look just the same as one in brooklyn?"

day 3 of the abscence of her. that english woman who turned my world upside right in under two days...

yesterday, i traveled to ten different 7-11's and sought after the three, spiderman 3 hologram cups, finding them all, and enjoying the wild cherry slurpee treat, just so i could think of something else other than her... it worked for an hour and after the brainfreezes, i went back to thinking about her... i hope her flight was okay... almost ninteen hours long...

today, to keep my mind in check, i bought big mac's, since it was buy one, get one for a penny for tax day... that didn't work... she's still on my mind and my belt needs loosening.

i hurt my shoulder somehow at work, so... that sucked.

i actually find myself enjoying, "crackdown," as opposed to the awful demo i experienced some months prior to playing the actual game...

the two new halo 2 maps that were released today, were almost damn near impossible to get because somehow, bungie had a bug in the files, and after persistence, of an hour, i got the maps downloaded, but because of the bug, xbox was telling customers to try downloading tomorrow, as bungie would be offline tonight fixing the problem, so, now that i have the maps, no one else seems to, and i can't play them unless i choose to wander around like a giddy little moron in his own private universe, shooting at things that aren't there and quietly pooping my pants... just kidding about the pooping...

i really am trying to not curse anymore. some might find this to be a fruitless effort, but i want to try and be a better person. and i think i can do it. i curb myself around important people at work and at church, so i think i should be able to do it in my personal life. although i let the f-bomb slip close to twenty times today, each time i caught myself too late, following it up with a, "DAMMIT! sorry..."

and since my shoulder is sore, i popped a pain go bu-bye pill, and will begin reading the new issue of game informer with the huge grand theft auto IV cover story article... woot!

werewolves and lollipops.

patton oswalt's new album, "werewolves and lollipops," will be released by, you heard it correctly, subpop records, on july 10 of '07. sweetness.

aqua teen movie was okay but not great.

new sopranos was better than the last by leaps and bounds... i don't know if i like the disarming christopher angle, but i still enjoy it.

ghost rider on ps2 looks good, and plays fine, but is repetitive and a rehashing of, "god of war."

halo 2 has two new maps tomorrow on live...

the girl i met this weekend is in the air right now, on her way back to england... i spent the day inbetween work, driving to 7-11's, collecting the spiderman 3 hologram cup sets to try and keep from thinking about how much i already miss her, and only after two days of knowing her... life seems to make sense when you stare down the plastic burrows of a wild cherry slurpee. i'm going to england next year. that much is for certain.

my heart reads... sorrow.

the tagline for, "before sunrise," is...

"can the greatest romance of your life only last one night?"

i feel numb and lost. and bummed... this weekend was amazing, and now... life is back to life...

Saturday, April 14, 2007

"so we meet again, and i offer my hand, of dry, and english woe..."

in my memory, i cannot find a place in my life where i have been as happy as i am now... i feel utter gratitude for mike and colby in my life, and god for second chances... this has been the greatest day and night of my life. period.

Just one look into your eyes
One look and I'm crying
'Cause you're so beautiful

Just one kiss and I'm alive
One kiss and I'm ready to die
'Cause you're so beautiful

Just one touch and I'm on fire
One touch and I'm crying
'Cause you're so beautiful

Just one smile and I'm wild
One smile and I'm ready to die
'Cause you're so beautiful

Oh and you're so beautiful
My darling
Oh you're so beautiful
You're so beautiful
Oh my baby
You're so beautiful
And you're so beautiful
Oh my darling
Oh my baby
And you're so beautiful

how's this for a kick in the ol' silver spheres...

i can't find the picture of angus scrimm [tall man from phantasm,] and me from the '99 fangoria weekend of horror convention anywhere in my old back-ups, yet, i did find the pic of him and my younger brother, paul. paul was 14 at the time. how's that for some shit...

heating up.

caught up on 24. check.

the new sopranos episode left me feeling salty. the next eight better be tremendously good or i will be a fucking mess.

aqua teen hunger force this friday. also this friday, the wedding.

i'm tired and for some reason, my house is ice cold... the temp says it's in the mid-seventies, but i've got warm socks on as well as sweat pants... i'm seriously feeling like mr. freeze...

jim beam and the new blog eras.

i almost didn't get to make this post... blogger i guess is affiliated with google now, and i had to go through the arduous process of creating a google acount, yada yada yada...

i finally killed the bottle of jim beam that was adorning my desk for some time now... it's odd how it tastes smooth inside my mouth, almost rich and soothing, and as i swallow, it's as if i drank firey gasoline... and the aftertaste is almost that of ashes...

i'm listening to the cure, and awaiting the download of the newest sopranos episode that has leak, ontop of the last four episodes of 24... no life.

i am making a run today though. going to spirits and wine... i need a bottle of spumante, and a bottle of either crown royal or captain morgan... maybe some kahluah... i forgot how good alcohol made me feel...

also, i re-began watching season one of twin peaks to catch up with the new season two dvd set... i forgot how truly great the show is... easily my all time favorite show. no question.

other forms of fun.

why not buy one of the many items i need, and give it to me for being awesome?...
